United Methodist Women

Purpose: The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

U.M.W. is composed of smaller groups or "circles". Each circle enjoys close-knit fellowship. You can choose to participate in a circle that meets at a time convenient to your schedule (see below). No invitation is necessary; everyone is welcome.

Throughout the year, the U.M.W. of Wesley host special events, such as the Spring Salad Luncheon and Auction. These events raise funds for missions, like Sarah's House, a local crisis intervention center. They also organize participation in ministry events, such as the Women of Faith Conference.

Cheerful Givers

This circle has no meeting but support the U.M.W. through pledges and fund raising projects.

Friendship

This circle meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. either in the church lounge or in a member's home. The circle offers a warm, relaxed atmosphere for fellowship with a variety of programs.

Open Hearts

This circle meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. They have a varied program.

Peace

This circle meets every Tuesday morning, 8:30-11:30 a.m., in the sewing room (Rm. 15) at the church. A close fellowship has developed within this group of ladies as they use donated materials to make woven and braided rugs which are sold throughout the year and at the U.M.W. Bazaar.

Serendipity

Serendipity is "the gift of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for." Meetings of this circle are held at 9:30 a.m.. on the second Wednesday of each month in a member's home or in the church lounge. Programs are varied and support is given to the church and U.M.W. activities in a variety of ways.
